On 25 July 2010, Sekretariat Rakan Muda UTP organized a visit to SRM UKM and SRM UNITEN named Friends For U. The main objective of this visit is to enhance Sekretariat Rakan Muda UTP management skills which are very essential in any organization. There were 2 ways share session of ideas and experience with SRMUKM as well as SERAMU. The flow for both SRM UKM and UNITEN were the same. It begins with montage display, followed by presentation on previous events conducted and ended with question and answer session from both side. Our first destination was SRM UKM followed by SRM UNITEN. Sharing session was mostly on clarification on implementing and conducting events as well as information on organizing SRM of both sides. We are grateful as we managed to achieve the aims of this trip and all members make used of this trip to enhance and widen their knowledge on what can be done by each rakan. We hope that SRM UTP will be able to organize more events especially in serving the community and nation as well as contribute to youth development. The visit involved 28 students from UTP who are committee members of Sekretariat Rakan Muda UTP. It was a good exposure to all committee members where they can learn from the success of SRM UKM and SRM UNITEN.

Karnival Sukan Rakyat

On the 23rd until 25th April 2010, Sekretariat Rakan Muda (SRMUTP) in collaboration with Student Representative Council UTP (SRCUTP) and Kelab Kembara & Rekreasi UTP (KKRUTP) had organized an event called UTP Outdoor Carnival that was held around UTP Main Lake. The Art and Culture Lifestyle which is one of the departments in SRMUTP proposed to organize KARNIVAL SUKAN RAKYAT 2010 as the sub event under UTP Outdoor Carnival 2010. The main objective of this event is to expose and give awareness to UTP community about the pure art and culture of Malaysia.

In order to make the youth realize about the identity of Malaysian art and culture, we are pleased to organize this prestigious event. With the theme of the event “MODERN SPORTS Vs TRADITIONAL SPORTS”, this three days event stands for activities and games in order to give exposure about traditional community games that have been played since our past generation thus describes about the uniqueness and the importance to keep the art and culture for the future generation. This first ever event on traditional games focused on all range of ages including public residence and UTP students itself in order to give them the general views and to expose the importance of conserving the pure culture. With the element of togetherness and caring, the activities and games are combining both modern and traditional such as Galah Panjang, Sepak Raga Ratus, Tarik Upih,Terompah Gergasi, Baling Selipar, Congkak, Fun race and some indoor games .

The first day of this event started at 3.00pm. The activities on this day only focused on several games such as terompah gergasi, baling selipar and indoor games (congkak, carom and chess). The games were held only for fun purposes which were free to all visitors. The crowd on this day was quite small as the weather was not very good and most of the visitors chose to play indoor games only. The event continued on Saturday which started at 8 am with a warm up activities. This event proceeded with the competition of several games like sepak raga ratus, baling selipar and galah panjang. Sepak Raga Ratus is basically depends on how much participants can hold the kicks within a specific time and galah panjang is depends on the skills to run or sneak away from the opponents inside the galah panjang court. While in the baling selipar competition, team with most points after 7 minutes will be the winner as the point will be calculated based on every ‘dead’ members of opponent team and also managed to build the slippers back. Terompah gergasi and tarik upih was held just for fun purpose only for this day. Opening ceremony for UTP Outdoor Carnival was held at 2.30 pm with Mr.Khairuddin, the President of Persatuan Belia Negeri Perak as the guest of honour. We also have special guests from the Rumah Anak Yatim Titian Budi Nurul Huda. After that, some of the children from the Rumah Anak Yatim Titian Budi Nurul Huda and others took part in a colouring competition which is open for kids twelve years old and below. The games for Karnival Sukan Rakyat continued until 7.00pm. The total participants for this day were 6 groups for baling selipar and also for galah panjang while 3 groups participated in sepak raga ratus. Chempedak B team won the baling selipar competition while Pasti Menang group won for the galah panjang competition. During the evening session, there are more crowds compared to the morning session and luckily the crowd can be controlled by the committees. The flow during the third day of the event more or less like the second day. Warm up was conducted by Mr.Ridhzuan Jinal followed by committees and several public residences from Titi Gantong. Next, Fun race which consists of 10 different checkpoints was held during the morning session. 6 teams consists of Ring Ding Dong, Power, 2, Jeno, Chancito and OK participated in this competition. Chancito was the winner for this competition and Power won for special category. During evening, there are 6 teams joined in baling selipar and galah panjang competition. For the baling selipar competition Kuyup team was the 1st winner. During these three days event, the crowd comes from UTP students, staffs and also the public residences around Perak. As this is the first time Karnival Sukan Rakyat was organized in UTP, the crowd that comes to this event were really satisfied.

Event adjourned at 7.00 pm. We are grateful as our event run smoothly as the event got positive feedback from the crowd. Hopefully, the Art and Culture Lifestyle, Sekretariat Rakan Muda will continue on organizing events such as Karnival Sukan Rakyat where students of UTP and public residence will know better on traditional games that are available in Malaysia.

Netball- UTP League 2010

Netball- UTP League had been held for a month since 27^th March 2010 to 25^th April 2010 at UTP Netball Court at Sport Complex.23 committee were elected to execute and makes the event successfully achieving the objectives. In this league, 8 teams had been successfully participated which consists of 13 player in a teams. The teams were Team- Team, Tata 06, BTB, E.L.F, Sekoot Liyut, Tech Geek, Chancito, and M.O.X. The event was started with the Draw Lots Night which had been held on 23^rd March 2010. The objective for the draw lots was to divide those teams in two groups which were A which consists of Team-Team, Tech Geek, M.O.X while B consists of BTB, E.L.F, Chancito, Sekoot Liyut besides to give some introduction speech and rules briefing. It started at 8.00 pm and ended at about 11.00pm.

First match have been started on 27^th March 2010 which was a week after the mid-terms break. The event started at 4.00 pm with the photo shoot session for every teams and end at about 7.00pm. For the first match, the games were done internally among the group which was between group A and B. The groups that won the games on that day were Team-Team, 15 scores against Tata 06, 6 scores, M.O.X strikes 8 goals against 4 goals to Tech Geek. While from B the teams won were 19 goals for E.L.F against Chancito only 1 goal, and BTB won 21 scores against Seekoot Liyut only 7 scores. There were some injuries experience by the players but manage to be control by the Rescue Teams.

Second match have been done on Sunday 4^th April 2010 as on Saturday was rain heavily. The games started at 8.00am until 10.00 am as on the Saturday first half game between Team-Team and M.O.X. had been executed and end with 25 - 0. The games continue for the second half and continue with other games which was Tata 06 won 32 scores against Tech Geek did not manage to scores any goals. For B group E.L.F won 9 goals against BTB that scores 7 goals and finally Sekoot Liyut won 21 – 7 against Chancito. The match was perfectly ends at 10.00am.

Third match was a crucial round where which groups will be qualified to go to the semi-final and final. Every team makes a great effort to make them qualified. For the games, Team-Team and E.L.F won majority point for which they were never disappointed them. Followed by the second teams go to the next round which was Tata 06 and BTB. It was a great game on that day. Some of the players experienced from leg cramps and Rescue teams had played their role.

Games was followed by Semi final on 24^th April 2010 which was between Team-Team and Tata 06 and E.L.F against BTB, a great games from every team as they try hard to win the games. Finally, Team-Team won against BTB with 35 – 12 scores and E.L.F won against TATA 06 with 26 against 17 scores. That’s means Team-Team and E.L.F would play on the final match to ensure the first place and second place. While for Tata 06 and BTB, they will go to the next round to make sure who was the third and fourth place. Match started at 8.00 am and end at 12.00 pm. Cheerful games where supporters came to support the teams.

Final match of the Netball UTP-League, on 25^th April 2010 which started at 8.00 am, as usual the supporters came too to supports the teams. First match was between Tata 06 and BTB. Fierce competition held between them where the two of them have been competing to grab the third place. Finally, BTB won against Tata 06 with 23 – 21 scores and officially BTB was in the third place and Tata 06 was in the fourth place. The second games continue with Team-Team and E.L.F, this game was the games of the day where there was a great competition among them at finally Team-team won against E.L.F with one point ahead which is 15 against 14 scores. Team-Team was officially won the first place in the games and E.L.F was the first runner up. The prizes will be given on the closing ceremony which was on 7^th May 2010 at the League dinner.

UTP Close Tennis Tournament 2010

On 6^th to 7^th March 2010, Sekretariat Rakan Muda Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (SRMUTP) has organized UTP Close Tennis Tournament 2010. The objective of this event is to serve as warm-up tournament for UTP tennis players as a part of their preparation for UTP Open Tennis Tournament 2010.

In this tournament, there are three categories offered, which are men’s singles, women’s singles, and doubles. The officials balls for this tournament is Dunlop Fort Elite. The format of the competition is based on Round Robin. This allows the players to have more competitive practice matches to improve the standard of their games. Knockout stages started for Men’s Singles in the Quarter Final stage, whereas the doubles’ started at semi-final stage. For the women’s singles, the winner is determined through the points collected through the Round Robin matches.

In the men’s singles, the winner is Mohd Zulkarnain Hashim, 2^nd Year First Semester student of Mechanical Engineering. In women’s singles, the winner is Tiara Liyana Sulaiman from Chemical Engineering, 2^nd Year 2^nd Semester. Doubles winner consisted of joint champions of the pair Nazri Abdul Karim and Tiara Sulaiman and Yeo Hann/ Aiman Tsalaha due to the lack of playing time available.

The tournament ended on a successful note at 7PM and has indeed served as a tune up tournament for the players as well as the organizing committee. Any mistakes carried out during this tournament will be rectified before UTP Open 2010 on 19^th to 21^st March 2010.

UTP Open Tennis Tournament 2010

On 19^th to 21^st March 2010, Sekretariat Rakan Muda Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (SRMUTP) has organized UTP Open Tennis Tournament 2010. The objective of this event is to identify new sports talent in tennis to be developed into player of higher calibre, also to improve the intrapersonal and interpersonal skills of students who organized this event. With participants from all over Malaysia, this soft skill is crucial in order to handle the event.

In this tournament, there are four categories offered, which are men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles and women’s doubles. Women’s doubles was held despite having only 5 participating pairs, which showed the eagerness of the participants to play in this tournament. The officials balls for this tournament is Dunlop Fort Elite.

This year, UTP Open Tennis Tournament 2010 was held in two different places, namely UTP and UiTM Seri Iskandar Sports Complex. At 8.30am, all players gathered at UTP tennis courts, where the players that scheduled to play in UiTM Seri Iskandar tennis courts would be transported by UTP shuttle service.

On the first day of the tournament, we started the match for men singles preliminaries. The format used for the tournament is knockout format except for women doubles, in which round robin was used. On second day of the tournament, we started match for men doubles preliminaries. The matches continue till 3 pm, where women doubles categories started. The matches continue smoothly without any problem. For the last day of tournament, the matches scheduled were semi-final and final round for men singles, women singles, and men doubles whereas women doubles still continue their match where the pair with highest point wins.

In the men’s singles, the winner is Ashaari Zainal Abidin from Kuala Lumpur. He won cash prize worth RM1000.00, medal and a trophy. In women’s singles, the winner is Tiara Liyana Sulaiman from UTP. She won cash prize worth RM600.00 with medal and a trophy. Men’s doubles winner is the pair of Syed Azhar and Mohd Fazree of Negeri Sembilan. The pair won cash prize of RM 800.00 and medal. In women doubles, the winner is the pair of Datin Intan Mahani and Farra Wan, and they won cash prize of RM120.00 with medals.

The tournament ended at 4.00pm, with the closing ceremony accompanied by photo session with all players. We would like to express a tonne of appreciation to UTP co curriculum unit, without their support we would never been able to handle this tournament. We also would like to give our special thanks to Mr. Idham, representative from Student Support Services who officiated the closing ceremony of UTP Open Tennis Tournament 2010. Hopefully, this event will be even more successful in the future.

UTP Soccer League 2010

UTP Soccer League 2010 is an annual event hosted by Rakan Kecergasan SRMUTP in collaboration with Co-curriculum unit UTP. The objective of this tournament is to boost up sport spirit within students and staffs. With such tournament, we can find the best team and highlight few talented players in football arena regardless of local and foreign team. Besides that, this is also of the event that provides a platform for UTP students to showcase their hidden talents. This is parallel with UTP’s mission which is to create well-rounded student, in both academics and non-academics activities.

For this year, there are twenty teams took part in UTP Soccer League 2010. This tournament consists of four groups and five teams per group. Four foreign student group, one staff group and fifteen local student groups. On the 11th February 2010, we had run draw lot ceremony. During this ceremony all teams’ manager, coach and captain came to determine their place in grouping stage. This ceremony was officiated by Mr. Nazri B. Abdul Karim, Senior Executive Co-curiculum unit (Sport and Recreation). The objective of the Drawing Lots Ceremony is to inform the manager of each group about the rules and regulation that have been assigned by the management team.

Since, there are 5 teams inside each group so that there will be approximately 40 match before the quarter final. Quarter Final started on the 16th of April and the teams that qualified to enter the quarter final are Group A; Gen 06 and Diao, Group B; Azzuri and Ace, Group C; Nissa and Galacticos, Group D; Croconile and Facebook.

Final match on the 28th of April 2010 between Facebook FC and Azzuri. Azzuri won against Facebook and make them the champion for the fifth time. The program also received a positive feedback from the participants and also the committee. Lastly, we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that involved, especially Mr. Badarolzaman bin Ramli and Mr. Nazri bin Abdul Karim for their endless support in ensuring the success of the program

UTP Basketball League 2010

For this year Rakan Kecergasan SRMUTP in collaboration with Co-curriculum unit UTP hosted UTP Basketball League. This is the first time such event held in UTP. With the theme “The Spirit of Sport”, we inspire the students to involve in basketball. This tournament organized based on Rules and Regulations of Law International Basketball as determined by FIBA. This is a great opportunity for UTP students to have “first-hand” experience in managing an event of this magnitude where their “soft-skills” such as management, communication and leadership can be enhanced. It is our hope that more talented players will be discovered, and be encouraged to take their game to the next level. There are six teams took part in UTP Basketball League for this year, consist of local, international student and also UTP staff. On the 24th February 2010, drawing ceremony was conducted to determine each team place in the group and brief each manager about the rules and regulations. This ceremony was attended by Mr. Nazri B. Abdul Karim, Senior Executive Co-curiculum unit (Sport and Recreation) and the team managers. All the six teams were placed in one group and the top two will move to the final. There were 16 matches for this tournament including final match. The grouping ended on 19th April 2010 and the two teams that moved to the final were PHENOMS and EDGE 2.0. The final match was on 29th April 2010. On that night, EDGE 2.0 won against PHENOMS thus entitled champion for the 1st UTP Basketball League. Last but not least, we would like to express our greatest attitude to everyone who involved in this event especially Mr. Badarolzaman bin Ramli and Mr. Nazri bin Abdul Karim for their help and support throughout this event.

Rakan Muda Wawasan Desa IPT

On 5-8 June 2010, SRMUTP has organized a program called Rakan Muda Wawasan Desa IPT Perak which took place at Kampung Felda Lawin, Selatan Gerik. The objective of this programme is to build leadership values among IPT students especially in helping the government strengthen the integration spirit among people surroundings. There are 40 students from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS that was selected for this program. Each of them were divided into their respective adopt parents. All activities in this program consist of both participations which are from UTP students and the villagers. This program had their closing ceremony on 7^th June 2010 which started at 9 pm.

SRMUTP Introduction Night

On 28th February, Introduction Night SRMUTP 2010 was organized. The main objective of this Introduction Night is to strengthen the bonding among all committee members of SRMUTP 2010 as well as events organising committees. Future events under SRMUTP 2010 was also presented to all present members during that night. Master of Ceremony for the night was Wan Najlin and he plays his role as emcee with his own unique style.

The event begins with the introduction of High Committee members followed by ‘Rakan-Rakan’ based on seven lifestyles of SRM which are Community Service, Nature Lover, Fitness, Martial Arts, Art and Culture, Innovation and Entreprenuership. Event continues with welcoming speech by Mr Zuhri and Mr Badarolzaman. They congratulate everyone to being chosen as committee members of SRMUTP 2010 as well as for events under SRM. He hopes everyone will give their full commitment to SRMUTP 2010 for the betterment of SRMUTP itself.

After that, event continues with a game named: “Regu” conducted by Mohd Aizuddin B Ab Halim, President of SRMUTP 2010. Present members were grouped in their own ‘Rakan’ and competed with other ‘Rakan’. Event ends with refreshment at 11.30pm.

SEHARI BERSAMA MOTIVATIONAL PROGRAM WITH TAMIL TRONOH SCHOOL

On 13^th of March, Rakan Masyarakat of Sekretariat Rakan Muda Universiti Teknologi Petronas (SRMUTP) had successfully organized Sehari Bersama motivational program at Tamil Tronoh School. It is to provide intense motivation, self-realization and awareness on the importance of education.

The day started at 7.30 a.m. as we arrived at the school. We began with the registration of students at the school’s assembly ground by taking their attendance. The registration was done in about 15 minutes. We proceeded with breakfast which was served at the school’s canteen.

At 8.15 a.m., we had our first session which was the Ice Breaking. The students were asked to sit in a big circle for introduction. They were asked to say their name, year of studies and ambition. We, the facilitators also introduced ourselves during the session. We proceeded to the activity to group up the students into 5 groups. We distributed a set of animal pictures to them. Those students who got the picture with the letter “L” at the back became the group leaders. The group leaders imitated the sound of the animals that matches the picture received.. The rest of the students were asked to close their eyes and move towards the animal sound. Facilitators were in charge of the groups randomly.

Around 8.45 a.m., we started with the first module titled Famous Person. The module was conducted in groups. We had 5 pictures of famous figures of the world. They are Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Tun Mahathir, Abdul Kalam and Dato Samy Vellu. Each facilitator asked questions on the famous figures to the students in group. When students could not answer, the facilitators explained detailed to the students on the figures. The module was to make students to realize the adversity behind success.

At about 9.20 a.m., we continued with the next module entitled Sharing Session 1. We were sharing about our life experiences during school time, the problem faced and how we overcome it. It was the students’ turn to speak. We were able to identify some problems faced by the students.

Morning break was served at 10.00 a.m. at the school canteen. After 20 minutes, we continued with the next module titled Watch My Answer. This game was done between 2 students per time. One student is not allowed to answer yes, no or shake their head. The other students will be asking questions. If the student answering to the question reacts by answering yes, no or shake their head, they are considered lose. The students will be able to focus on whatever they are doing even if they are under pressure.

After the module, we had an activity where random students were asked to show their talent; either dancing or singing. It was done on the students’ willingness. Students were really excited with the activity. All of them wanted to perform in front of the facilitators. We continued with the fourth module titled My Destination. The students were asked to imagine how their future to in 10 to 15 year time. And then, they were told to draw it out in a piece of A4 paper. They were given 20 minutes to show their creativity. Finally, some of the selected students were asked to present their drawing, what is all about, and what measures that they have to take to realize their future. It was conducted until lunch time.

At 1.00p.m., lunch was served at school canteen. After lunch, a game was conducted. Students were supposed to line up in a line of eight. The first in the line was told a story. Then, the student need to tell the person at the back without making any loud voice. The chain goes on until the last person. The last student needs to say the story loudly to everyone. It is to see how efficient information is being passed on. After the activity, the students were brought to the computer lab 4 the next two modules.

About 2.30 p.m., we started with the fifth module entitled Sharing Session 2. For this module, students were sitting in a big group. The facilitators showed the students how the Indian community is in the real world through newspaper cuts. The facilitators shared some real life stories and a video on students fighting. This session was to show the students how their life will turn out if they take the wrong path.

The last module, My Idol was conducted after the sharing session. Here, the facilitators made the students to realize how important parents are in their life and appreciate their parents even more. Some heart warming videos were showed. The facilitators talked heart to heart to the students. A song was played at the end of the session and at the same time, the students were asked to close their eyes and think about their parents.

Coffee break was given after the module. The motivational program ended with a photo shoot session and appreciation at 4.00p.m.

ICE-BREAKING SESSION & GOTONG-ROYONG; SEMERAK MAWADDAH 2010

On 27th and 28th February 2010, Secretariat Semerak Mawaddah under Sekretariat Rakan Masyarakat of Rakan Muda, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS had successfully made our first event that is ice - breaking session and ‘gotong-royong’.

The ice - breaking session was held on 27th February at Lubuk Timah. There were 28 of committee and 30 orphans of Yayasan An-Nur Maisarah involved for this session. The event started at 10.00 a.m and end at 2.00 p.m. Activities that had been done were ice breaking, games, and BBQ. Semerak Mawaddah for this semester makes some difference by spending a night at Yayasan An - Nur Maisarah. So, at night, the committee and the orphanage were spending time together and watching a movie (Papadom).

On the next day, (28th February) ‘gotong-royong’ had been conducted. The event was started at 7.00 a.m. with ‘senamrobik’ and followed by ‘gotong-royong’ at 8.00 a.m. It was end around 12.00 p.m. At 2.30 p.m, the closing ceremony for this first event was conducted. Together with this, we also make a surprise for ‘ibu’(founder of Yayasan An-Nur Maisarah) by celebrating her birthday.
To conclude, the ice-breaking session and ‘gotong - royong’ for Semerak Mawaddah 2010 was successfully organized.

Induction Day 2010

On the 6^th and 7^th March 2010, Sekretariat Rakan Muda Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (SRMUTP) has organized an event called Induction Day 2010. 24 participants, consisting of SRMUTP’s committees were involved in this event. The main objectives of this event are to educate committee members on management and leadership skills as well as to tighten the relationship between the committee members. This is parallel with UTP’s mission which is to create well-rounded students, achieving success in both academic and non-academic activities. This event was conducted at Kem Rekreasi Intan Suraya, Sungai Siput, Perak.

On the first day, all the participants gathered at V2 café at 11.00am and were briefed about the tentative for these two days. At 11.30 am, the participants departed to Sungai Siput and arrived there by around 1.30pm. After ice-breaking session, all the participants get ready to perform their prayers and preparing the BBQ for dinner. After performing Maghrib and Isyak prayer, the participants enjoyed their simple but meaningful dinner, fried rice with barbecued chicken and hotdog. Approximately at 10.55pm, all of them gathered to be given a short briefing of the night walk activity by the instructor. After warming up, they started their night walk expedition inside Bukit Kerengga jungle for about two hours. Around 1.45am, all the participants gathered back at the camp and rest.

The second day started at 6.30am when the participants woke up to perform Subuh prayer. After that, they had some morning exercise lead by Che Bukhari and then enjoyed their breakfast. At 9.00am, all of them were ready to be briefed by the instructor on their rafting activity today. During the briefing, the participants were also taught on how to build the raft on their own using tube and woods. After the rafts were ready, they proceed to water confident activity as the preparation before rafting. At around 12.30pm, all the activities are completely done and they were having a photography session with the instructor as. After lunch, the participants packed all their belongings and going back to UTP at 3.00pm.

Seri Iskandar MTB Exploration 2010

Seri Iskandar MTB Exploration 2010 was held on 21st February 2010 at Dataran SIDEC, Seri Iskandar. This event was organized by Kelab Basikal Rekreasi Seri Iskandar in collaboration with Sekretariat Rakan Muda UTP. In this event, 20 committee members representing Sekretariat Rakan Muda UTP provided a hand in terms of goodies packing, “pacak”, participants registration on 20th and 21st February, in charge of giving stickers at Checkpoint 1 and Checkpoint 5 as well in the closing ceremony.

The objectives of this event are to cultivate a healthy lifestyle among Seri Iskandar Residents as well as to promote Bandar Seri Iskandar. This event was widely promoted via http://simtbexploration.blogspot.com. We received good response from bicycle clubs all over Malaysia as well as individual participants. There were 785 participants that took part in this event; not only Malaysians but also from Singapore, Japan, Republic of Zimbabwe as well as Republic of Chad. Participants ranged from 10 to 76 years old. All participants have to go through five checkpoints in order to complete their journey. Pintu 3, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS is the last checkpoint. Participants have to go through a lot of obstacles in their journey such as timber, Palm Oil plantation area and many more.

The closing ceremony was officiated by Datuk Mukhriz bin Tun Mahathir at 12.30pm. The coveted Yellow jersey was reserved for the first three riders that managed to complete five checkpoints for both Male and Female categories. Datuk Mukhriz was surprised seeing one of the participants having an “iron-leg”. A special t-shirt was presented to him by Datuk Mukhriz himself. Event was adjourned at 2.30pm.

The Event Management Seminar is a two-day programme that was held on 20-21^st February 2010. The main objective of this event is to produce high quality leaders who are able to handle effectively an event with the useful knowledge exposed through EMS. In other words, participants will have a brief exposure on all the process and procedures involved in organizing an event. Besides, the participants will also learn the formal ways when dealing with corporate personnel .The seminar was participated by 210 participants from UTP, and 58 participants from IPTA/IPTS around Perak. Every student body and club in UTP have sent their reprentatives to the seminar, including Sekretariat Rakan Muda( SRM) which was represented by Mohd Zulhelmi b. Samsudin, Raja Hamizah binti Raja Bongsu, and Aiman Fitri b. Zainal Abidin.

The main topics that were discussed during the seminar are Successful Proposal Writing, Committee Organization and Activity Planning, Ceremony and Protocol and Effective Communication Skills. On the first day, the first module conducted was Successful Proposal Writing that was delivered by Mr Mohamed Noor Rosli Baharom, Director of Student Services. The point that was highlighted by him was a good proposal must be have clear and SMART (Specific, Measurable, Accurate, Realistic and Time Bound) objectives. Then, the second module is Committee Organization and Activity Planning that was handled by Mohd Fadhilah and Hazim b. Idris. The module is intended to give guidelines to the students to plan activities before, during and after the event and to give awareness on the importance of having a clear job scope for every committee. On the second day, a talk on ceremony and protocol was given by Pn Suhana. Protocol is a rule of correct or appropriate behaviour in a group, organization and profession. In an event or ceremony that is attended by VIPs, it is very important to have a good protocol so that the guest and audience feel comfortable and satisfied. It is also important so that a good relationship between individuals, organisation and nations can be maintained. After lunch, a brief talk given by Project Manager of the event, Mrs.Nurfarahin Mahadi on tips to handle different kinds of people in an organizations, eg: stict boss, negative co-workers, and complaining committees etc.
